    I see 2 bulbs, of the mercury arc filament type. The cylindrical one on the left looks like a GTL3 bulb. But there's a round one on the right too. What is the one on the right?

    I've always associated the single use steel needles with Victrolas and the old hard records and thought that they would tear up vinyl records. Were the yellow records a hard plastic or vinyl?

    Great reminiscence about turntables - thank you! And... nowadays, many people (including myself) have bought cheap read and white turntables that will play/convert old vinyl into digital format!
